why eden's dust?

We're more closely connected than we might imagine. Trace the lineage of humankind and you find that we have common connections. All of us.

Go back far enough and you discover that we come from the same neighborhood- Eden. And in that first garden we see that this connection comes from the fact that we all come from the same material, the dust of that ground- Eden's dust.

This blog focuses (most of the time!) on how God helps and challenges us to rediscover those most important connections in our own lives, both with Him and with each other- and often in significant and surprising ways.

about me

I'm a follower. I chose to walk the path of Jesus years ago and it's made all the difference in my life. I've spent most of my spiritual journey working across cultural lines, both in and outside the US.

I currently serve on a pastoral staff of a church in Anaheim, CA, working with urban homeless as well as with people and projects globally. I'm happily married with three adult sons. We're all in this thing together. We enjoy off-roading, the LA Dodgers (baseball), the USC Trojans (American football) and far too many other sports teams that show up on TV.

I practice martial arts, like hanging out with my family (especially late night philosophy/theology discussions with my boys), and having a cup of coffee in a quiet place with my wife and best friend, Liz.
